Worship is at the heart of the church’s existence. We exist to glorify God and enjoy him forever. Perhaps nowhere does this truth show itself more than during our gathered Lord’s Day worship. Our hope is that our worship would be full of reverence & awe, pleasing to the Lord, and a life-giving blessing to the body of Christ.

CENTERED ON GOD'S WORD

You’ll notice our worship is full of Scripture from beginning to end: we are called by God’s word, sing God’s word, preach God’s word, pray God’s word, and see God’s word in bread, wine, and water. In all of this, we pray for extraordinary transformation all through the ordinary means of grace that God has given to us.

Generally, we preach through books of the Bible, often verse by verse, alternating between the Old & New Testament with an aim to preach the whole counsel of God.

Musically speaking, we sing Psalms and hymns accompanied mainly by piano or strings.

LITURGICAL

You’ll notice we have an order or pattern to our worship (i.e., a liturgy) that reflects God’s covenant grace towards us in Jesus Christ. As you walk into the building, grab a bulletin as it will guide you through our service with printed readings and songs. God first calls us into his presence, taking the initiative to forgive our sins and restore us to fellowship with him. God speaks to us through the reading and preaching of Scripture, sanctifying us by the power of the Holy Spirit. From beginning to end, we respond to God in prayer, praise, Psalms, hymns, and thanksgiving. We then gather around the Lord’s Table as we celebrate the Lord’s Supper and commune with the Lord Jesus. Finally, we are commissioned to go out into the world to live for him – the King of all kings and Lord of all lords. The joy of the Lord is our strength!

A WORD TO YOUNG FAMILIES

In every way, we are “family-friendly” and believe the worship service is of great blessing for all ages, including children. You will likely notice no shortage of wiggles and squirms during our worship service (What Charles Spurgeon once called, “the sweet sights and sounds of a holy hubbub”). We’re happy to accommodate your family and childcare is provided for children up to 3 years old. We also have a nursing area for mothers with infants. However, families are equally encouraged to have the next generation learn to worship alongside their parents, siblings, and covenant family. We embrace these distractions as a congregation as parents balance the “holy hubbub” with being sensitive to others.
